Statement from the Chairperson

Welcome to Thundersley Rovers.

It is an honour and a privilege to serve as Chairperson of Thundersley Rovers, a club that has been at the heart of our local community since 1963.

I am incredibly fortunate to work alongside a dedicated committee, passionate volunteers and an excellent group of coaches and managers. While individuals may hold different roles, we are all united by the same goal – providing the best possible experience for our members and continuing to move the club forward.

Today, Thundersley Rovers is much more than a youth football club. We provide football opportunities for boys, girls and adults of all ages and abilities, including our FA Wildcats sessions for girls, FA Just Play sessions for adults and, from July 2026, our new Soccerbility programme for players with disabilities and additional needs. We are also proud to have achieved England Football 2 Star Accredited Club status, recognising the high standards we strive to maintain across coaching, safeguarding, welfare and club governance.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where people can enjoy football, make friends, build confidence and create lasting memories. Whether someone joins us to play competitively, stay active, develop new skills or simply be part of a community, there is a place for them at Thundersley Rovers.

Our success is only possible because of the fantastic volunteers who give up their time to coach, organise teams, run events and support the club behind the scenes. We are always looking for new volunteers and coaches, so if you would like to get involved, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I am regularly at Thundersley Common on Saturday mornings and always welcome feedback, ideas and conversations about how we can continue to improve the club.

What I enjoy most about Thundersley Rovers is seeing people enjoying football, making friends and developing both on and off the pitch. The family atmosphere, community spirit and sense of belonging that exists throughout the club is something very special, and I am proud to be part of it.

Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing the club continue to grow in the years ahead.

Chairperson
