Soccability - Coming July 2026

Thundersley Rovers is excited to launch Soccability in July 2026, providing football opportunities for adults aged 16+ with disabilities and additional needs.

Soccability is all about making football accessible, enjoyable and inclusive. Whether you are new to the game, returning after a break, or simply looking for a friendly environment to stay active and meet new people, everyone is welcome.

Sessions will focus on developing football skills, building confidence, improving fitness and, most importantly, having fun. Participants will have the opportunity to make new friends, be part of a team and enjoy the many social benefits that football can provide.

As the programme develops, our aim is to establish a dedicated Thundersley Rovers Soccability team that can take part in matches, festivals and disability football competitions across the local area.

No previous football experience is required – just a willingness to get involved and enjoy the game.

Thundersley Rovers Achieves England Football 2 Star Accreditation

Thundersley Rovers Football Club is delighted to announce that we have been awarded England Football 2 Star Accredited Club status.

This achievement is the culmination of a huge amount of hard work from our committee, coaches, volunteers and members, and reflects the club's ongoing commitment to providing a safe, inclusive and well-run environment for players of all ages.

The England Football Accreditation programme recognises clubs that meet high standards across key areas including coaching, safeguarding, welfare, governance and player development. Achieving 2 Star status demonstrates our commitment to continuously improving the experience we provide both on and off the pitch.

Over recent years, the club has continued to grow and develop, expanding opportunities for boys, girls and adults, introducing FA Wildcats sessions, becoming an FA Just Play provider and preparing to launch our new Soccerbility programme in July 2026.

Chairman James Gates said:

"This accreditation is recognition of the incredible work that goes on behind the scenes throughout the club. From our coaches and volunteers to our committee members and welfare team, everyone has played a part in helping us achieve this milestone. While we're proud of reaching 2 Star status, this is not the finish line. We remain committed to driving the club forward, improving what we offer our members and ensuring Thundersley Rovers continues to be a football club that the local community can be proud of."

As we look ahead to the 2026/27 season, we remain focused on growing participation, improving facilities, supporting our volunteers and providing football opportunities for everyone in our community.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this achievement. Together, we continue to build a stronger future for Thundersley Rovers.

Deanes Partnership

New Pitches and training venue

The club are pleased to announce that we are a partner club for the new 4g artificial pitch at Deanes School. The pitch is expected to be ready for the beginning of September and will provide the club with an excellent new facility for teams to have midweek training sessions throughout the year as well as matches on alternate Sundays.

This is a massive step forward for the club in providing first class infrastructure for our players.

VEO Camera

The club owns 2 Veo cameras for recording matches, one for use by the u7s - u10s at Thundersley Common and one for use by the teams u11+ at Appleton School.

Recordings are only made with the permission of all in attendance and the videos are stored securely and only made available to those whose children were playing in the match.

Rovers Football Camp

We are pleased to announce a one week summer football camp on the week commencing 16th August at Thundersley Common. It will be run by our Senior team coach, Liam Wilson. Your children will know Liam from the work he does coaching with Deanes and Thundersley Primary School.

The camp is currently for members only but we may open it up to non members nearer the time.

A new era for an historic club

At the clubs AGM on 5th July 2021, a new committee was voted in.

Statement from the Chairperson

It is an honour and a privilege for me to be voted in as Chairperson of Thundersley Rovers Sports Club.

I am incredibly lucky to be working with an experienced and dedicated committee as well as an excellent group of managers. For us it is not about individual positions or titles, we are a team and we all pull together for the best of the club. Our priority is to continue to provide a safe and fun environment for all children to learn football and life skills. We believe in providing an opportunity for them to develop socially through football, to make friends, to develop as players and to exercise under the guidance of our team of FA qualified coaches. All are welcome and all are encouraged.

I am always at the common on Saturday mornings and I am more than happy to chat or hear your views about our club. We are always looking for coaches and volunteers to help us so please let me know if that interests you. The club cannot survive without the generosity of our team giving up many hours of their free time whether it is organising games, coaching or working behind the scenes.

I love seeing the children having fun, making friends and memories and always enjoy the positive, supportive, family feeling that we have at the club.
